Thorbecke Bros reviews?

Admittedly Ive done an hour or two looking for reviews on their products but can find much. Im looking at buying their rear wishbone superlift kit. Ive been pricing out buying the separate parts and making my own vs this kit (among other manufacturers and styles) and this one seems to be nicely priced. I am just not familiar with the company and their quality.

The kit I am looking at is here:

Any and all help will be appreciated!

Re: Thorbecke Bros reviews?

I recently ordered bags, plates and cups from them. Everything showed up within a week but the bags. It never noted any special notes on the shipment tag. I called Thorbros and the guy I dealt with was very unprofessional. He told me they were drop shipped from air lift but had no answers as to when they would ship or when I may receive them. I'd be skeptical doing business with them but may just be my experience I just felt they were unprofessional

Re: Thorbecke Bros reviews?

The site says they don't have any of those kits "in stock". I have heard that there have been issues with getting actual products from them lately. I bought a front kit about 3 or so years ago, everything showed up pretty quickly, no issues for me then.

Re: Thorbecke Bros reviews?

I saw the out of stock. I was going to call when ordering. Anything over $100 I usually call the company to make orders. Less issue, more info to me and better service. A lot of the times they'll work for commission as well so it helps reps out. How was the quality for that front you got?

Re: Thorbecke Bros reviews?

I only got upper plates, bottom cups and bags. The quality was very good, but lost my job 21 months ago and had to sell it before I put it on the truck.

Re: Thorbecke Bros reviews?

I had a truck ('95 bought it not built) that was built with SD parts and it was great but all I did was drive it and fix some wiring and replace the bags etc. Can't really comment on a kit without installing it I guess.

I always wanted their C10 wishbone rear kit, looks awesome.... Problem is, well from others experience is that they started making C10 suspension parts and their raised crossmember (dropmember clone) but went through several business "changes". Allegedly one brother leaving the company (who made the C10 parts) and left a bunch of C10 owners stranded on parts. Lots of rumors of financial problems and other drama. But I don't know them just what I have read on here and other forums. Might just be here-say and bs but I have not seen one C10 build on here or other forums install their wishbone or front crossmember in probably 5 years. It wonder if they actually still produce these kits or just leave them on the website as "(sold out)". There is actually one build thread on here with SD front and rear that a guy recently got from the brother who left SD as a project but I have not seen an update in a while. It seems when they started making their C10 kits they were hot and then they vanished and for years all the C10 kits on their site show "(sold out)". Just seems fishy to me, I really wish they were producing and supporting customers with their products because I really want the rear wishbone kit. If they were producing and supporting C10 customers I would love to have the SD rear kit. As an alternative I like the rear kit from KP components http://www.cachassisworks.com/p-2522...on-system.aspx for the front I would go with Porterbuilt extreme dropmember, great quality and customer support. It's hard to find customer support that comes anywhere near porterbuilt. I just dont like the F9000 series sleeve bags on the rear drop member. They seem like a flimsy toy bag to me but that may just be my opinion from having a bad experience with one getting cut by road debris. They (F9000) have proved their worth time and time again on rides built here but I just dont like them, I guess I am holding a grudge against the sleeve type bags. Sorry for the long story. Let us know what you end up doing.

Why were the last two posts deleted? This kind of upsets me a bit.
