67-72 front&rear suspension on c20

Hi, like many I'm looking to go for the slammed looks with bags etc.
I found a complete 67-72 crossmember with dropped spindels and discs and complete
rear axle with trailing arms. Everything is restored. Will all these parts fit directly on my c20 66?

In this way I would have front discs, dropped spindels, 5-lug and ready for bag installation. Is this the best way forward?

/Thomas

I believe the C20 and C10 frames are different. Someone else should chime in. If it was a C10, yes. C20 I don't think the front would work without modification.

IIRC, C-10 and C-20 are the same; C-30 is a different frame, though. (But the front end stuff is the same as the C-20's) Someone else that knows for sure should chime in shortly.

Yes those parts will bolt right up under your '66 C20. I don't think the '67-'72 front suspension crossmember requires any holes to be drilled as the '73-'87 crossmembers do. I would say this would be a good way for you to achieve your suspension, steering and braking goals.

Re: 67-72 front&rear suspension on c20

Will this set up change back spacing on the 20 inch wheels I will buy?
Will go with 20*8 in front and 20*9 in back.
Or can I order as if there would be stock c10?
Any one know what back spacing you have used?

If the rear end you are getting is a '67 to '70 12 bolt (was originally 6 lug) then it will be the same width as the 12 bolt under your '64 C10. If the rear end is a '71-'72 12 bolt (originally 5 lug) then it will be 1.5" wider(.75" each side)than the 12 bolt under your '64 C10.

Thanks. I guess its same in front, no change in back spacing? Its all from a 67.
Still with 6 lug though...

Re: 67-72 front&rear suspension on c20

Then the width of that would be exactly the same as what is under your '64 C10. I do know that that '67 12 bolt will be a little narrower than the Eaton HO52 that is currently under your '66 C20. I'm not sure how the track width conpares between the C10's and C20's
