New steering pump Crooked? HELP!

I installed a new power steering pump on my '89 350 and now the pulley is out of alignment with the rest of them. When I crank it, it quickly tosses the belt. This is a serpentine set-up so how could this happen? When I spin the pump the pulley does not wobble so I know it's on straight.

Also Carquest listed two different pumps for my truck for the GVW which is 8600# in my case (V2500) Any physical differences between the two?

What the heck am I doing wrong?

Re: New steering pump Crooked? HELP!

You might have to slide the pulley in and out to line it up. Get a pulley pulley/installer and line up you pulley. I found out the hard way, if you bottom the pulley out, it won't be aligned. It'll take some fiddling with, but they will line up.

Re: New steering pump Crooked? HELP!

It's not a case of it's too far in or out. It is on some sort of an angle like it is not mounted flush to the aluminum bracket?

Re: New steering pump Crooked? HELP!

Gonna tear it all back out and reinstall it, something is wrong. Also going to install a new tension pully and upper and lower radiator hoses. They show two pumps for my truck so I need to take it back to the store and compare the two side by side.
