is my diff broke

Hello, I put my rear end on jack stands to do some brake work.
While I have it up I thought that I could find out what gears were in it by turning the drive shaft while in neutral.
I turn the shaft and nothing moves ?
I did drive it into the garage so I don't think anything could be broken but why doesn't it turn the wheel?
Thanks.

If you're turning the drive shaft, something is moving. Watch the axles closely when you do it.

Thank you for reply.
I just dragged my daughter out to the garage to help, it looks like 3.08.
I checked three times yesterday and would have lost a bet on there movement.
