Re: Interesting engine choice

COOL! Absolutely the most original powerplant application in a '68 C/10, ever.
Is it a 7-cylinder radial out of a Stearman?
And what do you use for antifreeze?

Re: Interesting engine choice

This is the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life. I'd love to see and hear this thing in action.

Re: Interesting engine choice

It looks neat, but in reality there would be no way to keep it cool unless there was a monster fan to move air over the cylinders.

Yup! The heat riser shouldn't be a problem either.....

Orientation is a bit weird, though.

Re: Interesting engine choice

They didn't just run them in Stearman PT-17s, there was a de-tuned variant that was the powerplant for the M3 Stuart Tank and the M1 White Scout Car. that was carburated.
I'm just wondering if he can steer full left and right with those tubbed-in wheel wells. Not the stock fender skirts, at all.
And I was kidding about the antifreeze.

Re: Interesting engine choice

Update us if he ever gets the drive train figured out!
Sealing the engine compartment and the right cooling baffles and he'd at least be able to drive it down the freeway

Re: Interesting engine choice

The only real problem is acceleration. You have to hold alot of left rudder or it vears right off the road.
