Proud New Owner of '53 4400 1 1/2 Ton
I just bought a 4400 1 1/2 ton '53 for $550. The guy I bought it from says it runs but doesn't have brakes. I took his word for it because, even if it doesn't run, for $550 I thought the cab was worth it. I've seen them in way worse shape without titles even for more than that. It has some pretty bad cancer on the bottom of the driver's side door but it did come with two extra doors. The rest of the body is pretty solid. I'm thinking of putting the body on a full size 4X4 frame. Does anybody have any pictures of a 4400 on a pickup frame? Also, how difficult are brake parts to find for this beast? I want to at least leave it as is for probably a year or two before I tear into it so I need some brakes so I don't crash it and can still enjoy this piece of history.

Did not realize there was a heavy hauler section....oops. I guess it won't be heavy for too much longer though.

Thanks guys. Definitely can't wait to get the brakes fixed so I can at least putt around on some dirt roads.
