63 GMC v6 to v8
Hi guys i am picking up a 63 GMC 1/2 ton granny 4spd. with v6 that has a BAD rod knock has juice clutch looking to put v8 in..... i have a 62 v8 juice clutch bell housing what are the differences if any with the front mounts?? later i will be putting a 3/4 cross member in with 8 lug and disc.... as i already put an 8 lug rear in years ago for the guy that owned it .... when i do the front i will have to update the dual master to power and separate clutch master or change the clutch pedal and linkage and bell housing any ideas????

The V6 and the V8 front motor mounts are totally different. The '60-'62's that had the V8 and a manual trans used just the front horseshoe front motor mount. You could use the '63-'66 I6/V8 motor mount brackets. I would think the holes would be in the frame and crosmember already on the GMC. Those should also bolt up to the later crossmember when that time comes. Myself, I prefer the '73 and up clamshell style motor mounts. The motor mount brackets from a C20 or 30 will fit the early frames nicely. The C10 brackets are longer and require a spacer on top of the frame.
I do make a power brake booster bracket with the hydraulic clutch for the '60-'62 Chevy's and the '60-'63 GMC's. There is a link to the for sale thread in my sig line.
