I like that! I sold my '71 C/30 wrecker because a MD is what I really need to haul 10-30s. Too bad the stars are all misaligned right now

Tim, you should be able to haul a 30 with a 30. A friend of mine once brought home my C-30 with his C-20 Wrecker, lol. Might have been legal too.

Is that a Custom Cab? I just noticed the door insignia, stainless around the windshield and the fancy side markers. I didn't know MD's had that option. Two-tone paint also. Interesting.......

You're right, I didn't even realize the Custom Cab features. I just noticed that it has nice Chrome Grab Handles as well, but not sure if they are original or not. The original ones I'm familiar with are smaller.

Yep,just Custom Cab and no CST...that I've even seen. The MD Customs didn't get all the goodies included on 10-30s,but did get the brightwork including grille. Came close to buying this one and there's a permanent footprint on my tail end from kicking myself every time I think about it (was $1,500). It had the sweetest sounding baby big block and was all original,except paint. It was owned by a local commercial landscape company who has always run Chevrolets and they're all painted this color. They painted over the grille.

I'm sure I could and you see it a lot. But,for me being a truck guy,I go with more is better. I used C/30s in my siding business when everyone else was using 1/2 and 3/4ts. Never have to worry about overloading. USPS stole my motto,"If it fits it ships" . I see C/30 wreckers as car tow trucks and C/20s for imports. All I'd be towing are 10-30s and this truck would be the ticket. Mostly,it's my way of having a useful and practical reason to own a medium duty. I'd kill to have a C/40 low side dump/skid loader combo. But,a C/30 would do just fine for my uses. Just one other excuse to own a MD. I like a truck that works hard and doesn't "feel" it's load.

Tim, I remember that truck above when it was for sale. I was hoping that you would buy it.

I also agree, it's nice to have a truck heavier than you need. I ran my '64 C-30 as a work truck and as a daily driver for years.

There was even a time that my C-30 was in the garage and I used my '62 GMC 4000 for a driver.

My best story is when I brought my '67 GMC 7500 to work one day. Detroit Diesel and Air Brakes to boot, lol.

That tractor didn't last long. It could have been $500 and I still would have had to pass. I would have liked to see a 7500 rolling into work.
