Door window scratches

Short of buying new window glass, anyone have any suggestions on removing scratches from door windows left from worn window seals?
They're original glass so I don't how touchy the glass may be if that makes a difference.
I thought about 600, 800 1000 grit sand paper and hours of sanding.

Re: Door window scratches

John, there is a product made to help in this situation I probably could have recalled the product name if this post hadn't come up, if you don't know how that is just keep on living and you will. If you were to try the sanding idea you mentioned I would start off with the highest grit you have or are gonna get like 1000 grit and make sure to keep it wet. I know this sounds too simple have you called a glass company to ask this or even done a search online to pose this question? I know for sure it can be done maybe I saw the stuff from Eastwood. Good luck. Jim

Y'know I never thought about asking a glass company. Sometimes you just gotta state the obvious.
As far as your first statement about forgetting; it's happening to me all too often. 30 years ago a 60 year old man was an old coot, now I'm him!
