Finally got another one
Me and a friend had to make a 1000 mile round trip, but after a fuel filter change, several stops to fiddle with the timing, 3 qts of oil, and change a tire that threw its tread; it's home. When we started our "voyage home" she had trouble even maintaining 50, now she can cruise at 70 on the highway.
She's a '71 I found on ebay with original 307/auto and original paint (or what's left of it). She'll need new rocker panels, cab corners, etc. Engine is pretty worn out, thinking about making it a 327 during the rebuild. Don't know if the rims are aftermarket or off something else but I kind of like them for now. Had to get rid of my old '71 when I moved out of California in 09, now I get to start aaallll over again |

Re: Finally got another one
It has the rare "buick wheel option"
Just like GMC, a step up from a Chevy |

Nice truck, sounded like a fun road trip. I miss doing things like that.

Re: Finally got another one
i was always told that a 307's had a different alloy mixture in the metal... softer maybe? That caused them to wear faster in the cylinders.. idk if this is true or not but if it is id either look at a new block or having it sleeved. maybe im uneducated, if so disregard! good looking gmc
