Bolt it on or sell it?
so a few weeks ago I acquired an interesting setup and have been going back and forth on weather to bolt this setup on and try it out, or just to sell it.
Reasons why i am hesitant to bolt it on are #1. the motor is already a .060 350cid(4 bolt main with a forged steel crank) running atleast 10.5:1 and #2 throttle linkage fitment.

Re: Bolt it on or sell it?
I always wanted a set up like this with a Q-jet just to tryout and play with . I think it's cool . If it were mine i would try it on something for sure .

Re: Bolt it on or sell it?
That looks like that turbo setup used on the 301 Pontiac motor...

Re: Bolt it on or sell it?
Similar , but for a sbc . I have also seen some that have a sort of split manifold under the carb with the turbo to one side non intercooled . Pulls through the carb and out the rear of the adaptor . then is compressed . Then pushed through the front of the adapter . The Pontiac deal had the carb on an adapter on the turbo mounted to the driverside if i remember correctly .

Re: Bolt it on or sell it?
BigDan it's actually a setup made by A.K. Miller. From what i have read he did alot of salt flats racing. This setup is actually a draw through setup, and puts the carb. up beside or just ahead of the alternator. It was also designed for LP as well as gas. The 2 ports on the carb. hat are for heater hose hook up to keep it from frosting up when running LP.
HotRod If I could get enough flow out of a q-jet I would gladly use one. However I am already running a 750 cfm Quick Fuel carb. and its still NA. q-jets from what I have ever read don't flow much over 700 cfm. I've played with q-jets A LOT over the years and love them for daily drivers, but it just wont work in this case.

Re: Bolt it on or sell it?
Put an E85 carb on it and don't worry about the 10.5-1 cr as long as you keep boost moderate.
There are LS guys running 12-1 with 15ish lbs of boost on pump grade E85..
