grease on body mount?
I have a NOS set of rubber I was planning to use on my blazer but have decided to save for my other blazer. I have a poly set I am going to use but heard you should grease them. What kind? How much? and where ?
Thanks |

Re: grease on body mount?
Id say lithium would do the trick. I'm not sure how a oil bases grease would chemically react to a poly mount material

Re: grease on body mount?
I use a waterproof grease, got a large tube of it from the local boat shop. It is Quick Silver 2-4-C Marine Lube with teflon. I think they use it in some of the outdrive parts

Biggest concern is does it chemically react with the poly mount. The wrong grease can destroy a mount.

Re: grease on body mount?
You don't need them to move so the only grease would be the bolt and sleeve so if you ever need to take the body off it will still come apart. I left mine dry except those two parts and they don't make noise and have been in almost ten years. I used a normal marine waterproof grease so it stays put and keeps water out. I use the same stuff on wheel bearings and all chassis zero fittings.
