'88-'98 sport side bed swap???

Has anyone ever seen a '88-'98 sport side (step side) bed swap on a '73-'87? I can see tons of pictures of those beds on the '68-'72 trucks and it looks great to me, but I can't find any of our style. Perhaps because it doesn't fit? Or maybe just doesn't look right???

Lol, I don't even like them on the '88-'98 trucks, let alone an older one.

I’ve done a Sportside swap to a ’84 GMC and thought it looked great….but it was only in 1/25 scale

Re: '88-'98 sport side bed swap???

I had a friend with an 87 short bed 4x4, 4 inch lift, 33" mud terrains and nice polished alcoas. His truck had the 88-98 stepside bed. Painted gloss black, it looked really nice. But he took the time to get every little detail perfect on the truck, so when it was all done, the body looked like it was made to be on there. He also updated the seats, trim, body molding, front clip and such that you would have thought it was a factory 90's square body model. It was really a work of art.

Agreed. It is awful when different generations are mixed together.

Re: '88-'98 sport side bed swap???

well you could pull off metal steppers in different gens mixing but the glass ones dont do it so great. kinda like s10s with a 80s full size step bed.

I agree, if every body line don't line up it look's awful with any bed swap. then take a bed as ugly as '88-'98 step side and it's a disaster.

on another note I mention'd this before and was chastised by one of the mod's for state'n my opinion , glad to see I am not the only one that agree's.
