cab mount location..

looks like i need help yet again...i looked over the site and couldnt find anything about this...not to say its not around...anyways i got a cab mount set and installed it ..3 mounts per side..three dif heights. looks to me like it starts with the shortest from the front and and the middle size next ..then the thickest mount at the back of the cab???? is this right because my cab looks high in the front. and its not helping to line panels up. again thanx for the help.

Re: cab mount location..

Hope this helps. All 4 cab mounts should be the same size. Once the cab is squared up, you may need some shims (washers) to raise the radiator support a bit (not always, but sometimes.)

Re: cab mount location..

Yeah, I think he meant 2 cab and 1 for rad support (per side.) But again, all 4 cab "pucks" should be the same size! So I'm not sure why he has 3 different sizes?

I'd say you got it right. Did you have shims on the front radiator support? Somebody might have shimmed it up as the bushings got weak.

Re: cab mount location..

Forgot about that... I seem to recall reading on here 4x4's do have different mounts.

Edit: Looks like 4x4 kits do have different size mounts:

Re: cab mount location..

So did you get the wrong mounts? Whomever sold them to you should offer to send you the correct ones. Glad it's all figured out now!

Re: cab mount location..

I used the energy suspension kit on my 72 .the radiator support mounts are unique. the four cab mounts, instructions said to use the taller ones in the rear yet I had to swap them to the front to get my fenders to door gap right .
