Console idea
What are your thoughts on repairing a broken console, but instead of trying to recreate the original texture, sand it all smooth and paint with a high gloss finish? These things are becoming harder to find in good shape but there are piles of damaged ones available for repair and modification. If our trucks have been modified in any way at all it's no longer original so why not modernize a bit. Give me your thoughts.

Re: Console idea
Here is one I've been working on to give you an idea on how it looks. Was able to save the texture in the middle so I left that in a flat finish.

Re: Console idea
The consoles are made of fiberglass and I am painting with car paint so durability should be similar to any other painted part inside the car. I suppose if people continue to use them as a seat they will still get damaged but this one has been reinforced in all the common damage areas so bit would still be better then factory was. It's looking like an option for consoles that would have been used as parts for other repairs anyway. I will keep you posted on the outcome.
