Re: another fire truck for sale (in NJ)

Looks really nice but I'm wondering why they say "The Milford fire company is selling their Chevy c 20 truck", but the truck clearly shows Bucks County on the hood. There is no Bucks County in NJ. Makes ya kinda wonder about their story...

Wow....looks like it might have done duty as a pumper too....are those pipes sticking out the back of the bed?

*I used to be a firefighter....any other firefighters here?

That would be a heck of a work truck! Something I could actually have a use for with what I'm doing now.

All these fire trucks you see for sale are low mileage. I always wonder how many hours they spent sitting still and idling at a fire.

Re: another fire truck for sale (in NJ)

Emough hating on NJ now, boys. What you see from the Turnpike is where we keep all the undesirable things, you know, chemical plants, warehouses and OUT-OF-STATERS.

We have the Pines down here and it's some of the best off-roading, fishing, camping, you'll find anywhere. I live in a suburb of Philadelphia, 20 minutes from the city, and we have active farmland all around us (the stuff that Toll Brothers hasn't killed yet with "could be anywhere" McMansions yet...). I guess it's all what you prefer in life, but I've lived on both sides of America and in the middle, as well as 3 foreign countries, and there is good and bad about everywhere. I came back to my birth state to finally settle down. Like Bon Jovi said, "I spent 20 years tryin' to get out of this place"...

Anyway, I hope that fire truck ends up in a nice home. Heck, I may even put in a bid....though I would put a bed on it...

Most people don't know how nice South Jersey is. I prefer it that way, it keeps others from coming here.

I'm actually happy that there are a lot of refineries and chemical plants around, since those are the places that hire engineers like me (even though I work in PA...LOL).

I grew up in north central PA (cows and mountains and nothing else), but my wife is from SJ, and she definitely won't go anywhere else. I like it here.

Where I'm at is a mix of farms and developments and small towns. I have zero traffic to and from work (but do have a bridge toll one way). Decent roads to cruise with the truck or the bike, and I have everything I want/need/desire right in reach. 45 minutes to Atlantic City, 30 minutes to Philly, 2 hours from the Poconos, 2 hours from NYC, 45 minutes from the beach.

I agree with all you guys are saying. There are big sections of south jersey that time really hasnt touched yet.I have relatives in both north jersey citys and south jersey pines and life is polar opposites. Its hard to believe. One day,i will get to make the move down to SJ full time.I do know that, central jersey shore is not for me anymore.

Re: another fire truck for sale (in NJ)

Given that the truck is (1) on the east coast, (2) rust free, and (3) novel, I would estimate it will sell for between $8000 and $10000. Is it worth that? All in the eye of the beholder.

Re: another fire truck for sale (in NJ)

Wow, I was thinking around 5,600 max, seeing I would have to find a bed for it.as for the east coast, why would they be more expensive over here compared to other parts of the country. I understand about being rust free, but most of the stuff in the northeast, that old has a lot of rot on them. Thanks for your input evan
