AM/FM.. It Works!
Got this radio local from an old friend. Barn find so to speak. He just had it in a pile of parts in an old barn. Filthy.
Deal was, if it works, $150. If not, just bring it back and he'll use it for wall art. Popped the top off and realized this baby hatched out several mud dobbers. Had my doubts at this point. Slowly chiseled and cleaned, sprayed an electrical contact cleaner on everything, and it all seemed to move freely. Put the power to it... And nothing!! Fiddled with it for a while and finally decided its hopeless. 2 weeks later, better pack it up and get it returned, tried it one last time. Presto!!! Thinking that electrical cleaner got something wet. Plays loud and clear. Unreal. This thing looked like junk. Ran all day, so far so good. 3 hrs or so labor, $150 bucks, not bad. Do need a fm tab though...

Yeah, I was just blown away it works great. Just because something is a little crusty, doesn't mean it's junk..

Re: AM/FM.. It Works!
Great score, congrats. I have about $450 in mine that I found at a swap meet. (Worked when we pulled it,.....NOT !) Maybe put in another $225 for a overhaul after I bought it. Wanted $275 and talked him down to $230.
YOU DID GOOD !!!
