60-72 New CPP mounts (and kit)
Anyone have experience with them yet? good? (ya ya ya I know the whole old motor mount fiasco/header clearance issue)
It looks to have the new designed motor mounts (with header clearance) For what its worth.. the mounts, trans xmember, and doug thorley headers are pretty good considering its the same price as ECE members and buying the headers thru summit. That as on my 1966 C10... I will have to cut 1/2" of frame rail edge off to accomodate the ECE mounts I believe. |

Re: 60-72 New CPP mounts (and kit)
It depends - if the stands go in the six cylinder location, it would end up in the stock location.

I could be wrong, but I think I saw that those kits from CPP have options for the adapter plates to choose your engine position.

Re: 60-72 New CPP mounts (and kit)
I bought those perches and they didnt work for me. I had a hard time finding headers that would work with them.
It looks to me like it would work perfectly and yes you would need to slice a bit off the inside of the frame rail. If I was going to buy from CPP, I would call only Jeff. i would not speak to anyone else there, there has been way too many horror stories on customer service from them and Jeff has been the one shining light IMO. Good Luck!

Re: 60-72 New CPP mounts (and kit)
Anyone know the difference between the 322y and 323y Doug Thorley headers?
Anyone else know the difference between kits? I have a 1966...but whats the difference in kits besides headers? (DT doesnt even list a 322y on their website) 1967 Conversion Kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/67-68-69-70-...fdafa6&vxp=mtr 1966 Conversion Kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/63-64-65-66-...4077ea&vxp=mtr

Re: 60-72 New CPP mounts (and kit)
with the help of chevyguy_72.... I kind of piece mealed it all in the end.
I did use the CPP cross member... but ordered it from summit racing to void having to deal with CPP. I did use the CPP sheet metal motor mounts that I found on ebay.. again voiding CPP's website, and service as a whole. I ended up using dirty dingo sliders I ended up sourcing all this seperately to void the cost of paying for rubber motor mounts and transmission mounts with everything... in order to seperately buy Energy Suspension poly mounts. I will be using the 1-5/8" headers from DT (324 y) as their exit angle is cleaner vs. the 323 and 322 1-7/8" primary headers which they exit somewhere in between a shorty and a long tube. Here is my truck all mock mounted in.

Re: 60-72 New CPP mounts (and kit)
Sure is a good feeling seeing that LS sitting between the frame rails of your old pickup truck isn't it?

Re: 60-72 New CPP mounts (and kit)
66Lsx
Nice set up. I need to mock up my 99 LS1 into my 63 and want to go with CPP sheet metal mounts but torn whether to get the CPP slidder adapters or the dirty dingo ones. And for the headers I was going to go with some hooker cast iron ones. Like these. What is the total adjustment of the dingo ones forward and back from stock location?

They exit above the trans crossmember and have the 02 bungs already in them... As far as the dirty dingos are concerned... 2.50" of adjustment total... I had NO problem sliding the engine to have the transmission crossmember utilize of the pre-existing holes as well as my original 1pc driveshaft (new slip yoke and u joints tho yes) yes the exhaust is above trans x member.. poor camera angle....

Re: 60-72 New CPP mounts (and kit)
Looks like its coming along nicely bud, A quick question though, how much were those headers and wont you have an issue with the exhaust hitting that trans x-member? Maybe its just the angle of that last pic. Thanks

Re: 60-72 New CPP mounts (and kit)
Thanks for the added pics. Those headers look sweet. I'm sticking with cast iron though I think for less chances for leaks and and it being a daily driver. Those dingos are pricey. The CPP sliders are $145 shipped with poly mounts through eBay. I think everything will clear.
