Window seals question
I have pulled apart my drivers side window, and of course every rubber seal is trash. I have cleaned the windows buffed them out etc etc and they are looking great, but now I want to paint and put back together. I want to obviously replace the seals, and I can find most of them. I cannot seem to find the seal the touches the glass and the frame of the vent window. Not the seal that goes around the frame of the vent window, but rather the one that goes in it and holds the glass in place. It rides around the curved edge of the glass as seen in the picture and sits in the channel of the went window frame piece. I would certainly entertain any vendors that make the whole kit or if anyone knows of a place that has the hole kit, particularly the part I am needing for a 1963 pickup please let me know.

^^100%^^
I haven't purchased that particular part, but after buying many other rubber products from various sources, Steele is the only way to go. |

Re: Window seals question
I looked there but I can't seem to find that particular rubber piece. Does it have some specialty name?

Re: Window seals question
I just got mine in yesterday from Classic Parts of America. It's called glass setting tape, for the vent window it is part # 70-751. They also have the one for the door glass, they are different thicknesses. Hope this helps.

I haven't checked that particular part out but that sounds to be closer to the verbiage I was looking for thanks.

Re: Window seals question

Re: Window seals question
i had a friend over to the house, on a weekend, whose door glass frame broke from the roller channel. had to weld it so glass had to come out and getting glass tape on sunday was impossible.
so i sent him to one of the discount auto parts places and he found cork gasket material the right size. worked just fine |

Re: Window seals question
Any glass or windshield shop will carry the glass tape. I took mine to my buddies shop and he redid both vent glass and replaced one glass with out me knowing because of the bubbles in the glass as I waited for free..
They sell it in diff sizes so you might have to trim the excessive pieces if they overlap with a razor blade..
