Has anyone used this patch panel
http://gmcpauls.com/pictures/6772out...nnerrocker.jpg
its listed as the outer 4" of cab floor with rocker channel and inner rocker. I need to replace just the section of floor right at the rocker panel. Just don't want to order this if its not what I need as GMC pauls doesn't do returns very easy. Most other retailers sale a 7" outer floor patch which is way more than I need. Thanks for any input |

Also interested in this. Have two sitting in the garage as we speak, ready to go on the truck.

Re: Has anyone used this patch panel
It's 4" wide, and about 5.25" tall. It looks solid, haven't test fit it though.

Re: Has anyone used this patch panel
I've used them. Got a pair from GMCPauls. They came to me dropshipped from KeyParts. They are the entire outer floor (4" wide) and have the inner rocker built in to them. They run all the way from back of the cab to the seam in the floor where it starts to curve upwards.
I needed new outer rockers and I had some pinholes where my inners met the floor. These were perfect for me. I don't have a ton of experience with patch panels but these seemed like a very good fit for me. |

Re: Has anyone used this patch panel
I have installed over a dozen sets, although they not perfect they are very nice, you will find that the holes for the front cab support bolts that are already punched will be off a bit, and if you use the entire piece you will have to tweak it a little where it meets the firewall pinch weld. on a 1-10 scale as far as patch panels go I would give it a 9.

Re: Has anyone used this patch panel
These fit nice, the flange part up by the firewall is about 1/4" to short if you go by the drip channel as a reference. So you'll need to modify it a little.

Re: Has anyone used this patch panel
Here is a picture if the one I installed I didn't need to use the whole piece. I didn't use the part behind the rear door pillar.

Re: Has anyone used this patch panel
Here is one getting test fitted in a Burb, notice towards the center I cut a "U" out of the patch panel, I've discovered it is easier to cut it that way over trying to leave the "rise" on the patch panel and cutting the floor to match. it always left too wide of a gap.
The second picture if one getting test fitted in a 67 SWB, notice how the punched holes did not quite line up. |
