disc front.my situation.best next step?

69 Shortbed. Factory power drums I think.
I want 5 lug disc front.
I made the mistake jumping the gun and bought all 4 new Moog ball joints for the 69 cross member and its all to bare metal ready for paint now.(control arm bushings were nice and tight I left them in and greased them)

Should I discard this and get a 73-87 front and then redo it? Or just buy the conversion drop spindles and everything else for a 71 and put it together?I could go to the junkyard and grab most(just for now, and use for core later for new ones.the truck just needs to be put back together I'm starting with basket case.)

What would you guys do? The budget fairly tight.

Balljoints have to match spindles.
If you have '69 balljoints,... they will only work with 63-70 conversion spindles.
These are the same price as the 71-72 spindles or 73-87 spindles.

Your tie rods also have to match the spindles.

It seems that I've done so much reading on disc stuff(including your amazing FAQ post) that I get myself confused. I guess that's the route I'm gonna take. You are definitely a wealth of knowledge Keith thank you.

Are the 73-87 control arm bushing very far superior to 67-72? Or will the 67-72 ride just as well?

They both have their own advantages.
There is nothing wrong with the steel bushings in the 60-72 a-arms.

If you want rubber bushings you will have to buy 73-87 a-arms,... and install your '69 balljoints in them.

Western has your spindles in both 2.5" drop or stock height for the HD rotors, if you so desire.
