Solid motor mounts for 67-71 big block
Does anyone know if there's such a thing as solid mounts for the 67-71 big block motor stands?

Moroso might make them. More of a drag racing only type of deal.
Energy Suspention or Prothane makes Urethane motor mounts for these trucks. Gary

If you use solid motor mounts, you need to use a solid transmission mount. Then you go to your dentist and have him pull all your teeth out so you don't vibrate your fillings out. I guess you could keep any that don't have fillings.

Re: Solid motor mounts for 67-71 big block
You should never use a solid transmission mount with solid motor mounts. either one or the other. I don't really want to use solid mounts on the engine, but I'm also a bit weary using small block motor mounts with the big block. I have the factory big block motor stands for a 67-71, but would need to use a large thick washer on the bolt so it doesn't pull through the larger hole in the big block stands using the small block rubber mounts. I just don't want the 454 ripping out mounts regularly and the correct big block mounts are really expensive and harder to come by

You can use urethane trans mounts, but not rubber with solid motor mounts. At least that's what transmission makers recommend. Why not just buy the correct mounts? I have mine tied down in case I break a mount, but haven't in the last few decades.

Re: Solid motor mounts for 67-71 big block
I have been there. Use a grade 8 bolt/Washer and I fabricated a square block from flatbar and drilled a hole in it. 1/4" Thick I believe, Measure the stand backside what size fits I don't remember. Never had a problem. I used GM mounts and was gonna go with Polyurethane someday...

Re: Solid motor mounts for 67-71 big block
The correct mounts are hard to find and $80- $100 a piece. Might just as well buy good performance ones if I'm going to spend that kind of money. I have a urathane mount for the Tremec already. Might chance a small block mount or maybe a urathane small block mount

There is a thread or two on here about using the '73 up clam shell mounts on the '69-'72 big blocks. If I remember right it isn't too involved. Try the FAQ forum. LockDoc

Re: Solid motor mounts for 67-71 big block
The Truck Shop sells 67-71 BBC mount kits for $86.00 a side.
Ecklers carries urethane mounts in both the OEM and captive styles for about the same price just not sure how complete of a kit it is. Since you already have the 71 down stands and a manual trans (?), seems like an easy decision to me.

Re: Solid motor mounts for 67-71 big block
I would just buy the correct ones. They are pricey but will accomplish your goal. All the 40 year old originals I have come across were fit for continued use, so new rubber ones will probably outlast you, lol. You can also post a want to buy ad on the parts board and I'll bet you can find some OEM used for less.
