New to me truck
Hello all! I have been on the 73-87 side for a couple years. I have an 89 Chevy crew cab dually that I have a thread on. I just recently bought a 2002 Chevy 1500hd. Dont have a pic currently, but its not hard to imagine. Crew cab 4x4, that is pewter. Werent just about all the trucks pewter in 2001-2003?

Re: New to me truck
I am already swapping the stereo. There were 4 blown speakers and the deck didnt work right. I am not going to so anything radical to it. Change or reupholster the drivers seat, put some towing mirrors on. Already changed the tires. Will tint the windows, maybe some small stuff along the way. I will put up a pic when I get a chance.

Re: New to me truck
Good purchase! In August I bought an 03 pewter 1500HD 4x4, I love these tucks. I tinted the windows, leveled the front end, intake, exhaust and some general house keeping. The best thing I ever did was get a black bear tune for it, the power went up as did the economy by about 2-3 mpg.
Excellent choice!

Re: New to me truck
I have new wheel hubs and cv axles to install when there isnt a gale force wind or 3 feet of snow on the ground. There are a couple things inside the truck that need some tlc. Drivers seat cushion is ripped in a couple spots, and a lot of cleaning. Here is a picture of it, albeit not very good.

Re: New to me truck
I got the axles and wheel hubs swapped. That took care of the ABS light that was on. Found out the shocks are shot! So that has moved up on the list. I will also at some point in the near future change all the rotors and pads.
I need to get some new fog lights, the lenses were off when I bought the truck. I am also thinking about switching most, if not all, the lights over to led. May do that a little at a time. I need to get a new hitch also. The guy who had this truck has not struck me with his mechanical ability. Before I tow my camper with it, I want to be sure about the hitch installation. |
