What are these wires?

These have never been hooked up since I've had the truck.

The wire in the first pic looks like something a former owner added. You'll have to follow it to see where it goes.

The solenoid & wires in the 2nd pic appear to be part of the TCS (transmission controlled spark) system. That was an early emissions system that used the solenoid pictured to block vacuum from the distributor's vacuum advance unless the transmission was in high gear.

The TCS system also has a temperature switch located in the pass side cylinder head and I think that's where that single wire plug (also in the 2nd pic) was originally connected.

Trace the wire back to wherever it goes. If it doesn't go to anything important, clip them off... Done!
