Project haulin' ass 2
I have been lurking around since about may when I inherited my dad's project after he passed. It's a 65 c10 that had a tired 350/th350. My goal is to make it a daily or awesome cruiser. I have done all of this since July when I got the truck home.
My dad also had a 69 c10 which he was finished with. He had a big "haulin ass" chrome emblem on the tailgate. With it being a long bed he always wanted a short bed truck. He got this 65 short box to build his short bed truck. Sorry I'm going to throw 5 months of pictures up that are all out of order. |

Re: Project haulin' ass 2
That was a summit gauge set. It came with all sending units. Even an adapter to convert a mechanical speedo gear to electric if you needed for older stuff. It was reasonably priced. $250ish. Has programmable speedo and fuel level also.

Re: Project haulin' ass 2
So not much has been happening to the truck this week because I've been to busy enjoying cruising in it. I am ordering an old air kit for it this morning. Also have a new rear bumper on the way. I am searching for some rear bumper brackets. I cannot bring myself to pay $90 for a new set.
Here is the harness BP automotive built for me. Well worth the wait. |

Re: Project haulin' ass 2
Looks like a slow week ahead for the truck. I'm waiting for old air to ship my AC kit. My rear bumper has been lost at at ups since Friday. Here is an under hood shot.

I started on the OLD AIR install. Everything has gone smooth so far. I also got a new rear bumper installed.

Only thing I'm not real happy about is the fit of the switch panel.

Re: Project haulin' ass 2
A little update. I got with Pro Performance and ordered an old air products hurricane kit. Top notch guys and they got me fixed up. The install went smooth and blows ice cold.
I also went on a road trip to north Alabama to pick up this short fleet bed. I have started the body work on it. I got a rear end from the salvage yard and got it cleaned up and new seals. Mine was trashed and this one already had 5 lug axles. I got the interior coming together. I also spray died the corner of the seat black. Weather is finally starting to look good. So hopefully going to start getting this truck straightened out one panel at a time. I am ready to see some paint on it. |
