1973 to 78 Stepside Fenders fit 1986?
Will Stepside fenders from 1973 to 1978, fit a 1986 Stepside truck. Bolt to bed? Bolt to step?, basic shape the same? Would weld in left side gas door and weld up right door along with marker lights.
Thanks, Les |

Yep everythings the same size and fits the same. Only difference is the obvious, wiring and gas tank.
Not sure what your asking about the fuel doors and markers. What year is your truck?

Re: 1973 to 78 Stepside Fenders fit 1986?
The truck is a 1986, C10 Stepside , the differences as I understand are: 1). the fuel tank is on passenger side, (86 is on left side) and 2). the 73 to 78 have marker lights in the rear part of the fenders. Not sure if will use the marker lights or weld up?
I need fenders as mine are rusted at the seam where they bolt to the bed, they were undercoated in that area and rusted beneath the coating to the point of having small holes. To bad because they are only rusted in that area. Thanks, Les |

Re: 1973 to 78 Stepside Fenders fit 1986?
On the stepside I did for my son, we used aftermarket fenders from a couple of sources. Both fenders I used did not have marker lights or gas filler doors in them. If you need the LH sq filler door, it could be cut out of your original fender and patched into the new one. That way you do not have to fill in the marker lights. We used a rear mounted tank with the filler in the bed so there was no need for the fuel door in the fenders...
