Bumper brackets for '70 Blazer
There are two different brackets used to attach the rear bumper to the frame. The ones outside the frame have 45 degree bends at the ends and are about 16" long. The ones inside the frame bolt directly against the frame and have a 90 degree bend at the end. Years ago, mine broke, probably because part of the trailer hitch was mounted on either side of the license plate recess. Anyway, NO ONE seems to make these brackets. I made some out of iron channel that have worked for at least 25 years, but if anyone's got a source or a pair they would part with, I'd love to hear. Note: standard pickup brackets don't work. Tried 'em.

In the same boat. Did you ever find a source? I was under the impression the truck brackets worked on a K5.

Re: Bumper brackets for '70 Blazer
No, I haven't found a replacement. The bracket from the pick up doesn't fit because there's a chassis rivet head through the frame that hits the pick up style bracket. I've been driving for nearly 40 years with on I welded up out of C channel. Has worked fine, but a little klugey.
PS: you're the first response since '09. |
