Will 35's fit with 4" lift?

I'm looking at buying a set of 35 X 14.5 X 16.5 Mickey Thompson tires on 16.5 X 10 M/T wheels. I've currently got a 4" lift and am wondering if these will fit or if I'll need to go up to a 6" lift. I'd rather not spend the extra $ on another lift if I can get by with what I've got.

I'm gonna guess that they will fit (with not a lot of room to spare) and are going to rub shortly after you turn the steering wheel. Depending on what backspacing those 10" wide rims have, they may even rub with a 6" lift. Maybe not!

I've got 35's on my Blazer and they don't rub at all, I'm on my third set of them actually. 35x12.5x15 on 15x10 rims. I'm not sure if they will fit on '73-87 but for '67-72 they will.

I guess you would not be able to get a test fit prior to purchase? Those 14.5s will stick out past the rim further than 12.5s, that's on the inside and outside. On the inside you'll have to watch for spring contact if you have say more than 4" of back spacing, on the outside you have to watch the fang up front. If you can test fit the tires.

I have an 86 K10 and have 35/12.50x15's and they fit fine, I have a 4 inch suspension lift (custom spring packs in the front/ 4 inch trailmaster 3 degree tapered blocks in the rear) , all with Rancho 9000 shocks on four corners and steering damper. They work great with no rubbing issues. Hope this helps. So I am figuring if you running 16.5 rims and couple inch widers tires that a lift would probably be necessary for rubbing issues..maybe one of the other guys will chime in here...thanks!

If it's the 14.5" Mickys you want, I think you'll need 6" of lift. 12.5s will fit fine but the extra width would probably rub in extreme conditions. Why not throw in a 2" body lift? You'll have plenty of room then. The only place you'll rub is the front corner of the front wheel wells, so you could cut that out like is done on some of the trucks on the show 4x4s thread. Then you probably wouldn't need any more lift. Or just buy 35 x 12.5s

Here is a pic back when I was at 4" of lift with 35x12.50x16 on it. No rubbing but maybe if got crossed up it would have rubbed. I'm betting 14.50 width tires will rub.

Thanks guys for all the reply's. I think I'll talk the guy into a "test fit" before I buy em' like Jim recommended. I love the stance of that last truck posted by GMC 71 k20. I wonder what width of rim that is?

I often take the old rig deer hunting and crossing ditches, so I should probably stick to the 33's unless I go bigger on the lift. I don't want my tires rubbing on the fenders all the time.

Wildwood, nothing against body lifts, (I've got one on my new truck) but I just don't want to stick one on my old chevy. Thanks for the idea though.

Last time I did a body lift it was on a 94 S10. I said I'd never do it again. But I did, and I like it! But if you want a susp lift then that's what you should get. Good luck

My 3/4 ton 1969 with 4" lift and 35"x12.5x16.5 BFG's with el'cheapo 10" rims. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the replies guys...how about fitting a 315X75X16 tire under a 71 with a 4" lift, mounted on a 10" wide wheel? Anyone ever run these new sized tires?

Depending on the make, 315-75s will be a hair shorter than a 35-12.5......

Are they baja claw's cause if they are they will measure way smaller than what the side wall say's.. So I would say yes they would fit...
