hELP with ANOTHER PS story...

Here's some picks of my setup..I was told by the seller of this truck it was a short pump, looks long to me...what do you think???

Also, I bought a Saginaw PS pump from summit and a pulley. Got it mounted and looks like I need a 3 groove water pump pulley or a 3 belt crank pulley.

Why is my pulley out so far. I used the stock brackets from the same year.

thanks for the info ahead of time...

Re: hELP with ANOTHER PS story...

If the back of the water pump is pretty much flush up to the timing chain cover it's a short pump. Long pump is about 3/4" away from the cover. There are a lot of pulley combinations out there. I'd look for a junk engine with a matching set still intact. Car or truck will work.

That is a short pump.

On these trucks, the power steering uses an add on pulley that bolts atop the existing crankshaft pulley. You just use longer bolts and stack the two pulleys.

Yeah but I have a dbl on The fan. That one is still not far enough out to line it up. Should I had a double and make it a triple.

Re: hELP with ANOTHER PS story...

Here is the add-on pulley for power steering. They're getting hard to find nowadays.

All installed.

The groove closest to the engine runs the water pump and alternator.

The add-on pulley runs just the power steering pump.
