What do you think?
This is a picture of the first cushion, out of six in my three bench upholstery project. The upholsterer called me as I requested after he finished the first one so I can check it out.
I am very critical of things, almost to the point of paralyzing a project like this. So, tell me what you think and don't be shy. Good, or bad I want to hear your opinions and technical observations. Keep in mind, we are not working with a pattern for a 1968 Custom Comfort optioned seat. Also, every seat cover I have seen in person and in photographs from the factory in a 1968 has been different - far from precise..

Re: What do you think?
I think you, and your upholster, nailed it. That looks great... I also think you made the right choice on fabric.. And the color looks great (not to mention pattern).

I would put that seat in anything I own. The cross seams are a good idea. They not only save a tremendous amount of material but also help minimize puckering in the corners around the fabric inserts. Just my 2¢ worth... LockDoc

Chris,
That looks nice. I am just getting ready to begin assembling my foam and fabric. Looking forward to seeing the completed seats.

Re: What do you think?
Thank you all for the positive responses!
The project is going to be a little long, since the shop that is doing the work is swamped with work. So they have been working on my seats in between scheduled projects, but they should have all three benches done before the big local car/truck shows. The Father and Son company working on my benches are a serious duo, and they take their work very seriously and are very conscientious of their end result. Everything about these covers have been done with my direction, with a heavy influence of the 1968 Custom Comfort seat cover option. So they are not a 100% copy of a '68 CC seat cover, but close enough to make me happy and looking period to 1968 vintage. As progress is made, I will share more pictures. The shop is very welcoming to the documentation process, so they call me to let me know when enough progress has been made to warrant a photograph or two. Again, thank you all for the positive feedback.
