Troubleshooting 350 flatspot- need forum help
Need your help ---
1. I've got a flat spot where the engine just dies (like you shut off the key) when trying to accelerate above 2000 rpm under load. 2. It starts fine, revs fine just sitting still with no load. Do you think it's carb or distributor related ? 3. Been thinking it may be stuck mech advance. Trying to decide where to start diagnosing first. Appreciate anyone's help. Fuel pump!
Pull fuel line off carb and pump fuel into a jug. It should pump strong and fill the jug quickly. |

The first thing I'd check is the float level.
Could also be fuel filter or fuel pump. |

Might help to know if this just started? I have seen a ignition system cut out like that. I had a HEI with a bad module that would idle around all day and soon as you got into it around 2k RPM it would cut out just like I had pulled the key.
