vent window rubber replace?

how much of a pain is it to replace the rubber?

I have the vent window asm out and off the truck and all new seals, it looks like I have to drill out the rivets to get the it apart so the rubber goes back in in 1 piece?

Re: vent window rubber replace?

It's not too hard. There are a couple of tutorials here on the board where guys walk you through the process, but the whole thing is pretty self-explanatory once you start digging into it.

I did mine a little while ago and used pop rivets and it all went together nicely. You'll be super happy to have the nice new rubber in once you get it all done.

Good luck!

Re: vent window rubber replace?

I watched the first half, that's about what I figured
I planned on doing this tomorrow and don't have that style rivets, I do have some short grip range pop rivets Ill try

every weekend I have ran across a dilemma and had to find more parts, all I was trying to do was change the worn out felt on the door glass, found the vent window frame rusted out when I went to put it back together, got a good used one with bad rubber, was going to take the 2 and make one, then discovered my rubber was bad too........

Re: vent window rubber replace?

You don't have to drill out the pivot rivet for the glass - easier to leave the factory rivet in place.
