Summit Bed Cover

I have been thinking of getting a bed cover for my 71 LWB for a while now, but it don't like the idea of a $300+ price tag. I came across this one from Summit in my price range. It says it is for a 73 but would it also fit of a 71 bed?

Re: Summit Bed Cover

I'm pretty sure the 71 and 73 beds are not that different in size.

Re: Summit Bed Cover

I can't give a definitive answer, but I had a cap designed for a 73 and up Chevy. It worked, but did not fit well. It was about 1" too wide on each side. I think that would be a killer on a tonneau. The Extang BlackMax for your truck is $253.65 here with free shipping http://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com...-Tonneau-Cover, and you may be able to get a 15% discount if you call. You may be able to do better if you look around.

EDIT: Hmmm... looks like you just got similar info twice.

Re: Summit Bed Cover

I found the Extang cover right after I posted this. It may be worth the extra $60 for the longer warrenty alone.

Re: Summit Bed Cover

Sorry for thread hi-jack but im up in Canada so cant get shipping from Summit, Im looking at this
http://www.partsengine.ca/product/To...ner-Detachable
It is for a 68 longbed, they make a 8' for a 2000 silverado 1500, do you guys think it would work? They install by clamps on the inside of the bed.

Same for bed rails would a newer truck with 8' box fit a 68 longbed?
