Bad News
Actually it was good news for chevys tonight at the truck pulls in Agency Mo., BAD NEWS is a 72 chevy that a buddy of mine did a lot of the fabrication work on. Tonight they had there 3rd win in a row with a pull of 282.10", there were no full pulls in the 4x4 class but 71-72 chevys took the top 3 spots with a Ford coming in 4th and another 72 chevy coming in 5th. These trucks are about as much fun to listen to as watching, BAD NEWS leaves the staging line at 7,500 rpms and with a 475 BB trying to pull a 45,000 pound sled it's something to hear.

Truck pulls are great!! We have them next weekend at the county fair! Ever watch the Semi's pull? Pretty wild with 8 rooster tails flying. The sled has to run a much bigger shield to keep from burying the operator!

Yes they are fun, I haven't been to one in a long time. My dad used to have a 69 Chevy 4x4 pulling truck, SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL!! Alot of horsepower for old 4x4's!!!

Truck pulls are awsome, I have been to a lot of NTPA ones because my Uncle has one. He used to have a '67 chevy pullin truck, but then went to a '37 chevy, and now on to a '33 chevy chevy car turned into a truck. Hes runnin a blown hemi engine.
Here is a link to a picture of his truck, I dont have any up to date ones, so I just used this one off line http://www.photoreflect.com/scripts/...um=0&adjust=-1 |

Mark, here's some more pics, I wish I could have taken more of the trucks in action but by the time the tractors were done it was too dark.

there used to be a guy around here that had three of those trucks, a '67a '69 and a '72. They were sweet looking trucks. :p I need to run out and see if he still has any of them sitting in his barn. Mabe he will let me pull one for him. :p
Thanks BLAZERMAN, for reminding me about these trucks. Mabe I will get to drive one. Hopefully he still has them.

My cousin used to run a 2x4 '72 pulling truck and he was pretty good and it is awesome to hear and see those trucks in action. Unfortunately he had just built an engine and he was pullin one night and when he came off the line it twisted the truck in half
and he could'nt afford to continue. But I did convince him to build an engine for me. |
