Question Front Springs

Would you guys happen to know if the GMC's that had/have the 305e V6 had stiffer front springs than the V8 trucks? I got my 65 minus that tank of a motor and I have no give what so ever in my front end.

Re: Front Springs

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that those springs are pretty stiff. Those GMC V6's are a good bit heavier than a Chevy big block.

Re: Front Springs

Yeah, the V-6 engines weigh about 800lbs so it's a good bet they are stiffer.

Re: Front Springs

Stengle Bros carries them with the correct load, might be made to order though. My Brother in law just had them make a set for his 63 V6.

Re: Front Springs

That's good to know, I will be buying drop springs to replace them then since the 4.8L LS engine is so much lighter.
