Power steering hoses
Hey guys I am going to be replacing my inner fender wells with factory ones and I've noticed the previous owner butchered up the drivers side inner fender well where the hoses come out of the power steering pump is it possible its the wrong hoses, I do have the dimples on the frame where the power steering pump is mounted to the frame. is there a part number for the hoses and the power steering pump. Thanks

Re: Power steering hoses
The PS pump mounts to the engine.
I just checked napaonline for the hose. It seems to be as close as the local parts store. NAPA, Autozone, Oreilly, etch will probably have them. The OEM style pressure line and the stub for the return come out of the PS box, make an immediate right angle bend and cross the frame at a right angle. They are clamped to the frame so as not to need to cut the inner fender. |

Re: Power steering hoses
How do you bleed the lines once you get them installed? I need to do this.

Re: Power steering hoses
Do I have to release the air somehow? Like when bleeding brakes?

Re: Power steering hoses
Leave the cap off the P.S. reservoir and keep it reasonably full of fluid. I hadn't run my engine when I bled mine, so I jacked the front up and turned it from lock to lock by hand. That way I was able to hear the air being purged and had a pretty good idea when it was complete. It's probably a good idea to let it sit a day and repeat the process. That gives more time for the air trapped in the fluid to rise to the top.
