lug nut question
Recently there have been a few threads about powder coating steel wheels. I just droped off my wheels this week to get powder coated. My question is what are you guys using for lug nuts? Are you reusing your old lug nuts, or are you buying new ones? If your powder coat a lug nut will it be durable and hold up? I went with white on the powder coating so any advice on what will look good and hold up would be much appreciated.

Re: lug nut question
Buy new lug nuts. They come zinc plated.

Re: lug nut question
I did that years ago and you will need to go to a metric size socket. The coating isn't thick but enough that your socket wont fit over well. Even then you will chip a few.
New lug nuts are cheap. You may also be able to find anodized. |

Re: lug nut question
Yeah my pops said to just go buy some new ones. I thought maybe you guys were cleaning up and refurbishing your old lug nuts. Im not running any hub caps yet, so freshly powder coated rims and rusty old lug nuts might not look so good. I keep an eye out for any hub caps that might fit when i am at the junk yards. So far i have only found one worth buying, but at least hit had the center hole for my front hubs.
