MK IV intake gasket question

Hey guys,

I bought a new aluminum intake for my BBC and I'm confused about which gasket to buy. The manufacturer recommends a Fel-Pro 1210 or 1212. The 1210 has a "blocked exhaust crossover" the 1212 doesn't. According to O'Reilly's web site the 1210 is not street legal. I'm not a mechanic, so someone step in and edu-ma-cate me! Which one do I need and why?

Re: MK IV intake gasket question

either will work with an atermarket oval port manifold , for a stock steel manifold you want to use the 1212 , to match the crossover in the manifold

Re: MK IV intake gasket question

Hey! Thanks for the fast reply! Would you happen to know which would be the best to use? One, I think the 1212 is the "Printoseal" the 1210 is a steel core set.

Re: MK IV intake gasket question

Id go with the 1210 , as I believe they are slightly thicker , and I like that for aftermarket aluminum manifolds , good luck , bigblocks are big fun
