Re: starter wiring???
Not sure how it is on an 83, but on my 66 there was a separate passenger side firewall connector for the starter and a couple sensors (originally a 292 in there) and maybe a coil wire. I cut all that out except for the starter wire. I ran that terminal to a relay then to the purple starter wire in the 5.3 harness. Make sure to plug empty connector holes with RTV and be generous with the dielectric grease. Fingers crossed I've only had some very minor gremlins. Good grounds to body, engine and frame are the key to makin these things solid.

Re: starter wiring???
The starter only needs the battery cable and the crank signal wire. My truck had only one more wire - for the ballast resistor - and the PO had already eliminated that with a HEI conversion. So I just took the wires I had and put them back on the LS starter.

Re: starter wiring???
you can delete that if you don't want it...I forget exactly how I wired mine after I removed it, but it's not hard to do...

Re: starter wiring???
distribution block...if you need 12v power, you can tie into it there, not sure why the a/c is wired to it?, but I don't have a/c so can't say for sure.
