Yes, they're the same.

The header panel of the bed is different though.

Re: Wood floor bed vs steel floor bed

Whats different about the header? Will I need to change the header if I swap a wood bed onto a steel bed truck?

Re: Wood floor bed vs steel floor bed

The started to use metal bed floors in 67 before that they were all wood I wish they would have waited till 72 that way all our trucks would have a wood floor , I've talked about it and talked about it and I'm gonna buy the parts and change my 67 to wood I will never be happy with it till I do

Re: Wood floor bed vs steel floor bed

http://www.mar-k.com/Catalog/catalog.aspx

On the left - > Front Bed Panel > Adapter Flange

This will allow you to not have to replace the front header (Can be a pain to remove in my limited experience)

Your bed floor cross sills, as well as the cross sill under the tailgate (across the back, rear support between the bed sides) will be different for a wood floor though. You'll need to configure the truck, year, and specify Wood Floor to see the Wood Floor cross sills, etc.

If you cant find nice OEM, I would suggest Mar-K. It's a moderately difficult project, but IMO well worth the effort.

All the specs for the wood floor bed wood are on GMC Pauls website, not sure if you know that ..

Re: Wood floor bed vs steel floor bed

Yes a wood or steel bed will interchange as assemblies.

Also wood or steel floor can be converted but lots of parts are involved.
