3" lowering of rear of '65 Suburban
Does anyone have pictures of lowering blocks for a 65 Suburban? I want to lower just the rear end 3", and want to use blocks. Any thoughts on this? Everywhere I check online, there are lowering springs, but they say use only for pickups, not for Subs and Panels. If I go with blocks, how reliable are they, and how do they install?
Thanks |

Re: 3" lowering of rear of '65 Suburban
Lowering springs for trucks work the same on burbs/panels...maybe a bit more drop because of the extra weight. I tried a set of rear drop springs on ours but didn't like the stance, also hit the bump stops with me on the bumper...knew that wasn't going to work for us.
We did make a couple 1 1/2" drop blocks to bring the rear of ours down a bit...very straight forward to install. I don't think I've seen 3"drop blocks though

Re: 3" lowering of rear of '65 Suburban
I used the rear sway bar and brackets off of a 84 Z28 Camaro. For me, it fit best upside down and backwards. The pics below are from when I first adapted it to the stock 12B...the pics above are on the current narrowed D60...same layout though.

Yes, it will work with a stock height suspension...that's how it was originally set-up with the 12B.

Do you remember who you got the sway bar from?
