A dumb question...ish
So we hooked up the harness last night and wasn't able to get her to turn over from the key, we did get it to crank by jumping it, so good news is it's not locked up, bad news is no crank from the key...so the dumb question is does the grounds on the back of the engine have to be hooked up just to crank it?

Re: A dumb question...ish
there should also be a wire at the either the battery of an extra wire that bolts to the big lug on the stater that feeds power to the stock harness

Re: A dumb question...ish
Use the purple wire that comes out of the bulkhead on the engine compartment side of the fuse box, that originally went to the old 350 starter. Dont use any part of the LS harness.

Re: A dumb question...ish
Do you mean it won't come on at all? Who did your harness? There should be a wire that needs constant 12v and some that need 12v switched, these should be hooked to an ignition relay that gets powered up by the wire that originally went to the HEI.

Re: A dumb question...ish
So the purple wire in the LS harness you connected to the one from the bulkhead and it didn't start? Did you connect the other side of the purple wire in the LS Harness to the starter?

Re: A dumb question...ish
Well it has to be there and hooked up to the starter. Otherwise, just run a wire from the bulkhead wire straight to the starter.

Re: A dumb question...ish
Should be a heavy gauge either pink or red wire that originally went to the HEI.
