Best "Agreed Value" Truck Insurance

Hope I don't get beat up here as I'm sure the subject has been covered, I just couldn't find it in the Archives.

I've had recent experience with Hagerty and a $30,000.00 Agreed Value policy. Good service, towing and glass replacement but Expensive annual premium.

Had $35,000.00 "Agreed Value" with Grundy World-wide, at 1/2 the cost of Hagerty. Grundy had lousy service on that Classic, didn't perform promptly (almost lapsed) and more Recently argued with an "Agreed Value" of $20,000.00 on my fully restored 68 GMC truck, wanted to only go a Max. $10,000.00.

I'm sure there are Other Good Insurance Companies besides these two, I'd like to KNOW Who they are,, contact info.

I'm eagerly waiting to hear YOUR Experiences, good and bad and just Who is the Best Insurance Business, "Friends" of Our 67-72 Chevy / GMC Trucks Community.

I'm with American Collectors . It's seems like a fair price but lots of restrictions with driving . I had a towing claim . they handled it very quick .

Have you looked into Chrome Insurance?

I have had Grundy's on all my trucks with good luck but luckily never had to file claims.
(They've never questioned my values and they were or are 20K plus)

The exception to that is my 98, they didn't want to cover it since it was "too new", I filed it with Chrome thru a local car guy I know. Now its not as cheap as Grundys but they let me do an agreed value on it.

I just signed with Hagerty, I shopped it around and Hagerty was the best suited (and cheapest)for me.
I went with “stated value” and upgraded to the tow service also.

I have my Corvettes insured through Chrome. Cheapest premiums. Never had a claim or need of service.

They wouldn't insure my Suburban. Said the condition wasn't good enough.

I use Grundy on my 69 Camaro and 72 GMC. Several years ago I had a claim on the Camaro (was rearended) and the claim was handled promptly and I had a settlement within 10days. I currently have the truck insured for $25k and was not questioned at all. Grundy has been good to me.

Have you looked into AAA i know its not a classic only co.but they came through for a buddy of mines 63 impala,wouldnt hurt to check

I have Grundy, had two claims, no problems. I work thru my local agent, if that helps.

American Modern here. Have my 67 and my 06 Z06 with them. No issues at all!!!!

I've had great service and claims payment from Hagerty (I had a fan blade go through my Chevy II's hood). I use their roadside assistance all the time as the top level covers any vehicle, and has paid for itself many times with the distances I'm usually from home.

But Hagerty won't cover my newest project (62 IH 1600) as it will be a car hauler, so I'll have to see if Grundy will allow me to use it as intended. I had to write a statement to the effect that it will be a really big babied car. Thankfully they never asked for that on my Burb, as that thing has tugged trailers plenty of times.

I had Haggerty for the first few years then found Grundy. They were half the price of Haggerty. I had one Grundy claim that was paid fast with no hassle.

I just switched to Condon Skelly insurance as they had agreed upon coverage and were 25% cheaper than Grundy. My buddy had them and had no problem with his claim

One interesting note is some of the insurance companies have no idea about How to value any "Survivor" or "Patina" original exteriors of our trucks so like a lot of the public that just buys with their eyes, they don't want to higher value any unpainted, original looking truck, even if there's 30K under the hood and in the chassis.

On the other hand, I've seen them Value literal junk, freshly painted and value accepted at crazy levels, SOOO . . . it seems to Me, in some instances you really CAN polish a turd, and even insure one some places too.

I have have had Hagerty for the past two years, no claims. Went with them after seeing how they treated a friend of mine when he totaled out his 55. He hit his grandson's 85 chevy truck (also insured by Hagerty) in a four car pile up on there way to an event in El Rino, OK. They towed his car 125 miles back home and settled on both vehicles at the agreed value, and also insured his next car when he purchased it. I was very impressed with that.

I have mine insured at 20K, I didn't shop around any, but didn't think 500 a year was to bad. Are you all getting this kind of coverage cheaper than this?

Great service at twice the price as Grundy.
I'm $205. For 25k coverage with Grundy.

had condon and skelly for 15 years with no problems (no claims either)...but they couldn't write policys in north Carolina...went with grundy,prices were better....did some research and seems a couple of years ago the company that wrote the policy's for grundy exercised a contractual right and took over the whole business and basically screwed everything up...grundy has since regained control and things are back to normal...I don't even have a bed on my truck yet and they were fine with a 10 grand value...it obviously depends where you are located but I have a convertible at 15 grand also and BOTH vehicles are $157 a year...I saw a LOT of junk cars in N.Y. insured for over 20 grand get totaled in hurricane sandy and the owners laughed all the way to the bank so I wouldn't be surprised if the companies started clamping down on agreed values

I had Haggerty when I first got the truck, but they didn't want to increase the value to where I wanted it since all the work I have done, and the cost was going to be crazy of they did. Switched to Geico after a lot of looking. They use American Modern, and did the policy for the agreed value and the coverages I wanted.

They did pull a fast one----they were told upfront that the drivetrain is not original. I put it in writing, and had a conversation with an agent. He said no issue, as long as its under 500 HP and not turbo'd or blown. A month later I get a bill for an additional $75 for having a modified drivetrain. I called and discussed, was told to either pay or get dropped, they didn't care what the agent had stated in writing in an email.

I paid it, but I'll be looking again when the policy is due.

I'd thought being 62, No tickets and No accidents ever, more companies might have been interested in getting my business.

Just signed with American Modern Ins through my progressive agent. Lots of options. Did $10000 value with 1000 annual miles for $101 a year since I'm building and not driving. Had options for 3000 miles that jumped to $158.00. Also had 6000 and unlimited options as well i didn't price out. All this on just pictures off my cell phone! 0 deductable. Full glass. $200 towing outside of 50 miles. Hotel $$$ if needed during repairs. Even $750 pet coverage! And the pics showed a pretty beat truck.

American Modern thru my Nationwide agent.265.00 yr with no mileage restrictions. Set it up last June and in September coming home from a car show the gearbox locked up in a turn. The adjuster had me do my own estimate because he said it was the only way I would be happy. I ended up with an 11,000 estimate and they cut a check for 10,900 after deductible. I also have a 40,000 agreed value. I pay 50.00 extra a year for it being modified. Make sure and have underwriter review your pics so you can get Agreed and not Stated value.

Goo to know. How "modified" is your truck?

JC Taylor here. Haven't had any claims, but they're very easy to deal with and didn't even give me grief when I forgot to mail a check this year (new babies apparently depleate short term memory ). For ease of service I would definitely recommend them, I'm lucky enough to say I have no idea how their claim service is though.

I pay 93 a year for $7500 agreed value on the 72.
