wiring question

I have an 87 step side I am completely going thru and i plan on doing away with the JEEP style tail lights and going with flush mounted LED's for running and brake lights with separate signal lights. If I looked at my truck correctly the wire for the brake and signal are one in the same.. How can I get two circuits for the two different lights...I know I can run a wire down both sides from the front signals to make the rears work. How do I keep the LED brake light from flashing as well?
