i have to say working in a scrap yard is nice but sad at the same time especially when the owner used to only fun square body Chevy but on to to point i found a 73 -74 grille with a engine badge that said 292 and i had never seen or heard of the being a engine badge before and i was wondering if it was worth any thing or if i was rare

Re: engine badge ?

In my limited experience, they don't seem all that common. I think they were a nice little touch they only did for a couple of years on the squares.

A couple of weeks ago I was treasure hunting at my Father in law's place. He has been into these trucks for over 30 years and had a massive collection. But a couple of years back he started scrapping it. There was still enough left for me to feel like a kid in a candy store.

In my searching around, there it was... a 73 or 74 GMC grille with a 350 badge in it and all the letters intact. My truck isn't a GMC so I left the letters. But I snagged the 350 badge and made a simple little bracket to mount it in the grille of my '78. The GMC grille isn't prefect, it does have a smallish piece broken out of it..

I came home with quite a bunch of stuff that day!

Now to find 2 more 350 badges for my front quarter panels!

Re: engine badge ?

Ebay for the FENDER badges. They are all over place there, is where I got mine.

The grille badges were on 73, 74 and 75's for sure. Beyond that I think is when they quit.
