Plans for summer laid: truck work.

I have a lot to do this summer (for me, spring, summer, and fall count as "summer").

I plan to get my fuel system reinstalled and fuel lines made, rear parking brakes freed, new radiator in, weatherstripping done, and truck running.

I will have to put the new radiator core support in later.

This way I can move the truck outside and renovate my garage! I plan to rip down the old sheetrock ceiling, rewire the entire place, put insulation up there, and floor the attic.

I also plan to build a large set of shelves to hold all my spare wood, parts, and other items. Space is at a premium in there so I have to be innovative. I'll keep you guys posted. I plan to start tomorrow, sealing off where those birds got into the attic last summer and next week, get back onto the truck. I am excited!

Once the truck is mobile and licensed, it can begin to help by hauling off the old ceiling and hauling in the insulation and flooring.

Cool! be sure to show progress pictures.. And i had some 67 fenders fall into my lap the last 3 weeks, 4 to be exact while going for other parts, all need a little work but better than what i had.

Well, step 1 is down! Last week I caught a break and got the opening where the birds came in patched. I had to recut the board a couple of times since I changed my patch idea but I think I came up with a good fix. The opening was on 3 sides of an old chimney so I matched up two of the boards with the pitch of the roof and fit those together. It's in with screws since I plan to take it down and paint it the next warm day we have.

Man oh man, those birds left me a MESS up there! I have since decided to tear the whole ceiling out once the truck is mobile. I may rent a mobile storage container to store all my junk in while the ceiling tear down and rewiring is taking place.
