Tapping sound???
On the passenger side, I hear a tapping sound, the faster I go, the faster the tapping sound. I took off the valve cover, as far as I can tell, no bent rods, no cracked valves. What else should I look for while I have it apart? Could it be an exhaust manifold leak?
Open for suggestions. Thanks yall!! junk

Re: Tapping sound???
Check the converter to flexplate bolts...Also may be an exhaust leak.

Re: Tapping sound???
If you rule out an exhaust leak maybe try this. With the engine OFF, wiggle the rocker arms to check for excessive clearances. If you find an obvious loose one, it could be as simple as tightening the rocker arm nut maybe 1/8th turn. Start the engine and see if the tapping is quieter. It could be as simple as adjusting the rocker clearance(s).
A not so simple fix would be if you have a collapsed lifter on a cylinder, or a wiped cam lobe. Try wiggling the rockers first. Good luck! POP

Re: Tapping sound???
you say "the faster I go" does that mean it only does it while moving or does it still do it when stopped with the hood up...
