Rubber Clutch/Brake Pedal Bumpers
Hey guys. I'm positive that the clutch pedal is supposed to have a rubber bumper (stopper) for it that installs in the square hole located in the metal piece under the steering column. What I am wondering is if the brake pedal is supposed to have one too? The reason I ask is because my one owner, low mileage, 72 C10 automatic does not have one installed. This is a super clean, all original truck so I would think if it had one from the factory it would still be there. Also, all of the aftermarket parts catalogs I've looked at only list an application for the clutch pedal bumper. Anyone know for sure? And if so, are both bumpers the same part #?

Re: Rubber Clutch/Brake Pedal Bumpers
I know my K10 has stoppers for both the brake and clutch pedal, but they mount to the parking brake mount which was changed to a pedal around 1969 I believe. Is there a square hole where you think the stopper for the brake pedal would mount?

Re: Rubber Clutch/Brake Pedal Bumpers
Yeah there is a metal plate there under the steering column with the two square holes in it indicating there should be a bumper there for the brake pedal. Only reason I was wondering is because mine doesn't have one, and this is a very original truck. May have just gotten rotten and fell out?

Re: Rubber Clutch/Brake Pedal Bumpers
Its certainly possible, I'd think its the same bumper for both pedals and you probably want both so the pedals sit evenly in your footwell. Could see if the one for the clutch fits in the other hole and then see if your parts store has any.

Automatics have one bumper and manuals have two. Your truck should have one. They are the same part on both pedals. Depending on how the pedals are adjusted, sometimes the pedal doesn't even touch the rubber bumper. LockDoc

Re: Rubber Clutch/Brake Pedal Bumpers
Where do you purchase the bumpers?
