Wierdest set of factory appearing doors

Guys I went parts chasing today and came across these doors. All the seams look factory. Never seen a set and didn't know what they came from. Trevor

idk doesn't look factory to me. The four rust spots in the top corners is telling.

Re: Wierdest set of factory appearing doors

Not factory, but factory parts frankensteined together. Maybe some sort of side step van or motorhome convo???

Re: Wierdest set of factory appearing doors

We know John Wayne had a Mitchel camper on a K20 or 4x4 Converted C20/BBC. He also had a custom raised roof/door 66 IHC Travelall. So maybe there was a custom Suburban either for or inspired by him. :-)

So Trevor, did you buy them?

You're all wrong. It's obviously from a safari truck.

School bus conversion would be my guess, that yellow and need height to get people in on the curb side.

I agree, a hightop panel school bus conversion, I saw one years ago sure wish I could have gotten a pic.

Re: Wierdest set of factory appearing doors

Look familiar? It was called an Express 12. It was probably in the late eighties that I saw one while delivering to a school in Kansas or Nebraska...no cell phone camera back then! It would be neat if you could find the rest of it, can't be many left.

Re: Wierdest set of factory appearing doors

I'd have ventured a guess with the "Texas GM/Chevy Truck" version cabs... to fit the extra room needed for the Ten Gallon Hats...

LOL
