New bench seat for '87

I am looking at replacing the factory bench in my 87 K-30 and when I do I want to get something with a console in the middle. I came across a 98 Z71 with a 40/60 bench and I wondered if this would work?

What years are the easiest to swap or is this even possible?

Seats for 88+ trucks don't just bolt into 87's an older. I tried with my friend's 88 bench. YOu can always make your own brackets to mount the seats, and then you could pretty much install any seat into the truck. Steel Horse seats sell pretty nice setups and they also sell brackets to bolt right into your truck. They're a tad expensive though.

The 98 seat I found is $350

Would the steel horse route be alot more?

Do you have a website?

Steel Horse seats run about $900 - $1000 U.S. so the '98 is probably a good deal. Tough to find sites with Steel Horse pricing, just search for "steel horse seats" and see what you find. If you can weld and are handy with steel I recommend making your own brackets. Or even having someone else do it might be worthwhile.

This is going to be a work/hunting truck so I guess I will make my own brackets for the money difference. Thanks for the help though. I just didn't want to spend $350 on seats if they could not be made to fit.

It's like I say, with time and money, you can do anything to any vehicle. No problem on the help.
